Sam Groveman has been dedicated to the art of drumming for over a decade.

He fell in love with the drums at age 12 after hearing the drumming of Travis Barker. During his teenage years in Atlanta, Ga., he experimented with bands and joined his high school drumline which installed a lifelong appreciation for a rudimentary discipline and collective approach to drumming.

In 2017, he became a full-time member of Georgia-based rock band, The Orange Constant, which plays nearly 100 shows a year around the greater Southeast and has recorded with Grammy-nominated producer John Keane (R.E.M., Widespread Panic.)

Sam pulls from a wide spectrum of styles including rock, funk, hip hop, jazz, Latin, R&B, and embraces sounds and rhythms from around the world. He has studied under internationally-renowned clinician Bill Bachman, Tony Royster Jr. (Katy Perry, Jay Z,) Professor Steven Walker of University of North Georgia, and Lil’ John Roberts (Janet Jackson.) He draws influence from Eric Moore, Clyde Stubblefield, Tony Royster Jr., Travis Barker, Dave Weckl, and Jojo Mayer to name a few. Sam is now devoted to bestowing his passion for drumming to beginners and advanced students alike.
